NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) has been the 'buzz word' of the mind technologies movement for over 30 years. It all began way back in the early 70's when John Grinder and Richard Bandler studied the work of the three leading therapists in the fields of Gestalt therapy, family therapy and hypnotherapy; Fritz Perls, Virginia Satir and Milton H. Erickson.
Bandler and Grinder posed the question, ‘What made these therapists so successful?’ Their aim was to uncover the key elements used by successful practitioners. Once recognized, a strategy, was used to copy these elements. The idea was simple, copy what they do and achieve what they achieve. The results were astonishing. They continued their research and created new NLP strategies that have developed into a 'virtual manual' for the brain.
By studying successful individuals, NLP strategies improve the way we think. NLP is learning how to learn. Allowing us to copy others behavior to share in their success. In short, your mind is an extremely powerful computer, NLP is the user manual that enables you to make the most of it!
